  “This is just so awful but I am going to post it anyway because people need to know. frown emoticon This evening around 4:30 a lady called the Kendallville police dept. hysterical about a cat caught in a trap at Mikes Muffler shop. She was going through the drive through at Dairy Queen. When the police got there it was in a horrible inhumane trap that hurts the animal with clamps and they lay there and suffer until they die. Well, apparently the cat was there most of the day and the business owner knew it, she said she was waiting for her son to get there and do something with it. The officer was able to shoot the cat and end the suffering ( I feel so bad for this officer ) but no one was able to remove the cat as you need tools to do that and it was attached to the building!!
  
  I called this lady on the phone to ask her why they were using such inhumane traps like this and she laughed as she began to tell me that they have a groundhog problem at which point I stop her and ask her if she is really laughing, do you think that any of this is funny?? I told her that she should not be using traps like that for anything, that no animal deserves to lay there and suffer and die. I won't post everything that was said here but her main concern was well this could probably hurt business. I drove back by there a bit ago and they have since removed the trap from the building I guess so no one will see it now. God only knows what they did with the cats body but they were suppose to turn it over to the humane shelter and they did not. I hope a lot of people see this and share it, we need a city ordinance or something that bans traps such as this!! frown emoticon And I personally think that this lady should have been charged with cruelty to an animal since she knew and did nothing. So awful and sad, makes me sick.”
